Privacy Policy

General Incorporated Association Impacting Asia (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) hereby establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter, “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter, “the Services”).

Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal Information” refers to “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions, as well as data such as facial images, fingerprints, and voiceprints that can identify a specific individual on their own (“Personal Identifiable Information”).

 

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

When users register for the Services, the Company may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number.

 

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

  1. To provide and operate the Services

  2. To respond to inquiries from users (including verifying identity)

  3. To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and information about other services offered by the Company

  4. To contact users when necessary, such as for maintenance or important notices

  5. To identify users who violate the Terms of Use or attempt to use the Services for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use

  6. To allow users to view, update, or delete their registered information, and check their usage status

  7. To charge users for paid services

  8. For purposes incidental to the above purposes

 

Article 4 (Changes to the Purpose of Use)

The Company may change the purpose of use only when the new purpose is reasonably related to the original purpose.
If the purpose of use is changed, the Company will notify users or publicly announce the updated purpose on the Company’s website.

 

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

Except in the following cases, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent from the user, unless permitted by laws and regulations:

  1. When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult

  2. When necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children and obtaining consent is difficult

  3. When cooperation is required with a national or local government agency or its agent to perform duties prescribed by law, and obtaining consent may hinder the execution of such duties

  4. When the following items have been notified or publicly announced in advance, and the Company has submitted a notification to the Personal Information Protection Commission:

    • That provision to third parties is included in the purpose of use

    • The items of data provided to third parties

    • The means or method of provision

    • That the Company will stop providing personal information to third parties upon request from the individual

    • The method for receiving such requests

(Exceptions to Third-Party Provision)

Even in the above, the following cases do not fall under “third-party provision”:

  1. When the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use

  2. When personal information is provided due to business succession through merger or other reasons

  3. When personal information is jointly used with a specified party, provided that the items of information, the scope of joint users, the purpose of use, and the party responsible for managing the information are notified to the individual or made easily accessible

 

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When a user requests disclosure of their personal information, the Company will disclose it without delay.
However, the Company may refuse disclosure in whole or in part if:

  1. Disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or rights of the user or a third party

  2. Disclosure may significantly hinder the proper operation of the Company’s business

  3. Disclosure would violate laws or regulations

A handling fee of 1,000 yen per request will be charged for disclosure.

Non-personal information such as history information or characteristic information will generally not be disclosed.

 

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

If a user finds that the personal information held by the Company is incorrect, they may request correction, addition, or deletion (“Correction, etc.”) through procedures specified by the Company.
Upon determining that such a request is necessary, the Company will promptly make the Correction, etc., and notify the user.

 

Article 8 (Suspension of Use, etc.)

If a user requests suspension of use or deletion (“Suspension, etc.”) on the grounds that their personal information is being used beyond the scope of the purpose of use or has been obtained by improper means, the Company will promptly conduct a necessary investigation.
If it is determined that the request is valid, the Company will promptly carry out the Suspension, etc., and notify the user.
If Suspension, etc. requires excessive costs or is otherwise difficult, the Company may take alternative measures necessary to protect the user’s rights and interests.

 

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

The contents of this Policy may be changed without prior notice to users, except where otherwise provided by laws or this Policy.
Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy becomes effective when posted on this website.
